Overview

Concept Store Development

Flower Bar is a modern floral concept store that transforms bouquet buying into a live, collaborative experience.

Rather than relying on pre-made arrangements, it invites customers to choose fresh stems and work with florists to create a personalized bouquet in minutes.

Challenge

Flowers as an Experience

Most florists sell a finished product: browse, pick, pay, leave. Online and subscription services strip the experience down even further, reducing flowers to a delivery transaction with no craft, spontaneity, or personal touch attached.

The Gap

No one in the category treats flower-buying as something to actually do, rather than something to order.

The Opportunity

Build a concept that treats buying flowers as a creative, in-person ritual rather than an errand—something people would visit for a bad day, not just a birthday.

Approach

Full System, Ground Up

Built the brand from strategy up, not from visuals down:

Defined the core purpose [flowers as a live, collaborative experience] along with the brand’s values, including quality, creativity, experience/connection, and sustainability.

Identified the distinction: an interactive build-your-own bouquet process with an expert florist, plus a local-artist partnership offering hand-drawn greeting cards made on the spot.

Positioned against direct competitors (traditional florists, high-end boutiques, online/subscription services) and indirect ones (supermarket flower sections, artisanal gift shops).

Reflection

Takeaways

Flower Bar grew out of my love for floral arranging. Creating a concept store around it gave me the chance to develop a complete brand and space around a hobby I’ve enjoyed since childhood.

This was also my first time using AI image generation in my workflow, and the learning curve was steeper than I expected. Translating my sketches into usable images took a lot of trial and error, especially when learning the art of prompting. I then refined every image in Photoshop, adjusting color, texture, and composition and adding brand elements to fully integrate Flower Bar’s identity. The process helped me understand how AI could fit into my design practice and how much still depends on my own direction and refinement.

The most fulfilling part was seeing a personal passion take shape as a space I could imagine people stepping into. I hope to revisit Flower Bar and develop the concept further, with the possibility of bringing it to life one day.
